Message from Rob Heresy
Following the fire at Eddies 8.... Cruxshadows update as promised. HI, Ok the best I have been able to do is move the concert to a venue in Nuneaton, just north of Coventry. There will be a free bus to take people with tickets and that have reserved a place on the bus from outside The Gallows to the new venue and back again after the show. Tickets can still be purchased through ticketweb, http://www.ticketweb.co.ukFor people who do not want to make the trip to the new venue you can get a refund through Ticket web. For people who want a refund and bought their tickets direct from Edwards please contact Colin at info@edwardsno8.wanadoo.co.uk The new venue is called The Queens Hall, Queens Road, Nuneaton. http://www.queenshall.net/With the move it meens an easy relax after work and still loads of time to make the gig. Therefore we have decided to attend the ex-brum gig. Anybody else? |

Alzheimers Action
Being cheeky stealing Al's journal. Just wondered how many people had seen this? Please have a look. Devastation as NICE says Alzheimer's drugs too expensive at just £2.50 Hundreds of thousands of people with dementia will be forced to wait for their condition to deteriorate into a state of confusion and fear before being prescribed drug treatments that work, following a cost cutting move by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). In a disgraceful double blow, Ebixa, the only treatment for distressing behavioural symptoms in late dementia will no longer be available. http://www.alzheimers.org.uk/News_and_Campaigns/News/index.htm |

DVD Question
After missing out on a few shows over the last 2 weeks we have some computer files to transfer to DVD. On our previous burnings the audio starts "in sync" but after about 5 minutes a lag. about 1-2 seconds happens between picture/audio. I'm I missing something silly in Nero 7 that will solve this problem. Play back of the files on the PC does not produce the delay so the source is not corrupt. Any help will be appreciated. |

Anarchy Online
Last night saw my first toe dip into the world of Anarchy Online. This was so I could see shygoth spin his tunes. Of course I could have taken the easier option and just listened via http://www.gridstream.org but were is the fun in that. Now when I get home tonight I'd better read the instruction manual so I know what I'm doing. I'll try to answer any messages tonight but if you catch me at a bad moment expect some cussing. |

A quick write up about Beyond The Veil IV that takes place in Leeds over the Easter Weekend. This year bought about a change of venues compared to previous events. To be honest it's a blessing. Using the Cockpit for the band event on Sunday gave the bands more stage, better lighting/sound options and this came across in their performances, giving us the crowd a greatly enriched experience. The Golden Lion Hotel made us all welcome and we'd be happy to stay again for BTV or our own leisure trips to Leeds. The first band - Trauma Pet. Very enjoyable. The best opening act for the main BTV Sunday that we have seen. I'd only heard quick snippets from myspace and was hell bent to be on time for the 3.10 start time. Some Electro clash with Great vocals Ellie and Tara on Bass with attitude But only while on stage! (All the rest of the weekend just a infectious grin/smile from having fun.) Hopefully still learning so I'd like to catch them again say at October WGW. The only negative was each song finished and we got a pause while Pete ran to reprogram the gizzmos for the next track. Second up - Uninvited Guest. I'm well pleased they were invited back after their Good Friday appearance last year. The previous year has seen their sound progress and performances become tighter. For me the star of BTV4. Goth lyrics to a Metal-ish sound. They are not The Cult because they are very tongue in cheek but very fun to see. A band that warrant seeing and a place on the WGW bill. Next up third on the bill - Deviant UK. We'd saw their set at Whitby alternative in October. To be honest after a short time we decided they weren't at their best so went out for some food. Also we are seeing them in Leicester in 12 days time. It was after the food our small drama of the weekend happened. Sarah who's arm we'd twisted into coming had a small fall up the hotel marble steps. To say her knee was black is being polite. Therefore our return to the Cockpit was delayed. We caught the last couple of tracks from Sol Invictus - Not our cup of tea but for strange folk easy listening would be good. Then Ardor were up. After the longest intro in the world of sci-fi samples and snippets the Green Giant himself came to stage front. For spectacular stage show they were the best. Slightly bleep cyber but with good vocals and funny bagpipe thingy. It was a pure oneman show but it works. Must say after the build up about Toxic Blood doll twins to have them stood behind the keyboards all set was disappointing. The headliners House of Usher we'd seen on the previous trip to Leeds. They are good at what they do. All very musically correct but slightly mellow. Therefore because it was late we drifted between the rooms. That's pretty much it all. If I think of any more will post tomorrow along with any photos. |

Time for a LJ post.
Surely it’s not been that long since the last? I blame all my friends…….if you lot didn’t post sooooo much I’ll find time to write. And if you believe that you’d believe Shrewsbury could win the league. Seems we have entered a busy period on the gigs. No gigs this weekend because it’s PCC on Saturday. The Easter weekend in Leeds is FF – Screaming Banshee Aircrew and Beyond the Veil 4. We are skipping Whitby this time, maybe we’ll catch Zombina, Frankenstein in Nottingham. End of April is Freezepop time. Then an all day 2pm-2am Sunday 30/04 Zeitgeist in Leicester. 9 bands including Zeitgeist Zero, Neon Zoo, and Deviant UK £7.50 on the door or £5 with flyer. Even the first weekend in May is booked, Covenant and Sisters of Mercy. Breathe and have almost 3 weeks off before jetting to Miami. By a fluke of nature we land in Miami for night two of Fetish Factory 11th Anniversary party. Looking around the club choices for 2 sweet innocent English roses this was the best!!!! So we are going to join the partying. 8 weeks to try and lose some of the middle age spread can’t really call it puppy fat any more. We are now on Broadband at home. Wow you what… can’t be… I hear you all scream. So I want you all to fill comments with; websites, radio stations, online games, download places, comics, software or whatever you believe a modern PC shouldn’t be without.
